The significance of this very rare Green Helvetia globe is that only a certain amount was produced during WW 2 for use by the Doctors during the Swiss National Redoubt.  This lantern would have been hung outside of a bunker to indicate that a Doctor was present.

It has taken years to find this lantern and only due to the incredible kindness and generosity of Jörg Matt, who lives in Switzerland, was I able to finally add this to my collection.
