FR. Stübgen & Co. - Fledermaus 2850
The glass, which is so heavily 'bubbled', is embossed with the 'Fledermaus' on the front. On the back, it is marked 'MADE IN GERMANY' and 'Fabriqué en Allemagne' which is French for 'Made in Germany'.
This globe was made in Germany for export to France. The fuel fount is marked '6' D.R. PATENTE' with the embossed Bat - Fledermaus.
Note the burner insert as this is different than the other models of later Nr. 2850's. This is how this lantern was able to be dated.
CIRCA: 1927-1928

The value of the globe is anywhere from $35.00 - $50.00 depending on the condition of the globe.

Hi Tom,
This particular model has a different burner even though it appears to be like the other Nr. 2850's. What you need to do is turn over the burner and measure the slot right where you would feed the wick up. If you have more questions, please use the main contact form and then you will be able to send me photos of what you have and I can respond to you.

Hi I've recently discovered one of these lamps in tact with glass but very rusty. I've removed all the rust but the metal is heavily pitted and there we're some small areas that needed to be filled. It has no wick and I was wondering what size il need once fully restored?

Just found one in the attic. But it doesn't have any text on the glass. Only the Bat logo.
